Revised Philosophy on Life:

Nostalgia, wishing for things from before, wanting the time back, is a good thing, because even if life ain't so great now, it means you have a lot of good to look back on.

Call it a 2-AM-style sentiment.

Good Times:

Wow. Crazy fantastic weekend. I started out Friday night planning with the group for the 48 Hour Film Project ( www.48hourfilm.com ). In case you don't know what I'm talking about, it's a contest where you get a group together and script, film, and edit a movie, all in 48 hours (7:30 PM Friday - 7:30 PM Sunday). Each team pulls a genre out of a hat and has to use the quote, prop, and character that all groups are assigned (in order to make sure the group really made their movie on this specific weekend). We got a balloon, the line "do you smell what I smell?" and the character 'Rachel Schwarz, Quality Control Expert'.

Anyway, I was in a group because one of my friends from Grease contacted me and asked if I wanted to help out. She works at Mentor Graphics, and the whole group was made up of 20-something-year-old software engineers, so that was fun. We were given the category of 'sci-fi'.

We made this movie. You should watch it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqixrkt6Dhk

Hmm...but yeah, very crazy weekend. Running around over on the East side of town, looking for properly trashed locations in which to film. We also did a lot of shooting in Sheri's new house (Sheri was one of our team leaders) that they'd just moved in to about 3 days beforehand. It was a good location, since we could pretty much set anything up how we wanted.

We had, for our shoot, a dozen red balloons. Lemme tell you, nothing gets you funny looks like wandering around the industrial district carrying a bunch of balloons. I got a ton of good pictures, though, with those balloons, and also of an awesome burned-out warehouse down there.

These are my weekend pictures. They rock, especially the ones from the shoot:

There is so, so much more I could say about how exciting the film project was, but since I honestly don't know where to start, I guess I'll stop.

What else...? Oh, on Saturday night, at 2 in the morning, Willie, Perrin, and I walked up to Cedar Mill Elementary to watch the meteor shower. One of the fun things about still being a minor is the thrill of breaking curfew.

And now, it is late, and I need to sleep. 24 hours (and two minutes) till my birthday. Exciting.

Things I Learned the Hard Way Today:

- "This pen leaks."
- "The photocopier rips up pages you put in it. Maintenance has been called."
- "I forgot to take the roll of tape out of the box I just had you seal up."
- "That pen also leaks."

Yum.

Hm. Today. Today was...

Well, work, as usual, was very boring (just a month to go). But then, after work, Perrin Perrin. came over and we made desserts. Those of you who know me (I'm assuming that's most of you) probably know that I don't cook. Ever. So this was definitely a fun change for me. We made chocolate-covered strawberries and these chocolate-dipped sugar-coconut-pecan things (which probably have a name, but I don't know what it is).

I make a mean chocolate strawberry. Haha.

*nod* It's always nice to try something new with friends.

Yummmmm.

On another note, I watched RENT today, and it made me miss Grease. A month now since it's over. Sad, sad, sad. I should audition for more stuff.
